About David
David Torrance is recognised as one of Scotland’s elite teaching professionals.
He established his reputation as a first class coach whilst Head Professional at Nairn Dunbar Golf Club in The Highlands of Scotland, and in March 2016 he was presented with the Scottish Golf Coach of The Year award.
With his reputation assured, he left Nairn Dunbar in 2018 and is now based at Forres Golf Club where he is a full time Golf Coach.
David is a PGA Advanced Fellow Coach, an elevated membership status which was bestowed upon him as a result of his commitment to personal development and coaching successes all the way up to national level. He was also one of the first Scottish Golf Coaches to gain the advanced coaching qualification of Level Three Sports Coach UK in 2013.
David has been a North District Coach since 2005, a Scottish Golf Academy Coach from 2006-2015 and a Scottish Golf Performance Coach from 2015-2018.
Both Kelsey MacDonald and Russell Knox were coached by David at Nairn Dunbar during their junior years at The Club. During his twenty years in The Highlands he has produced over ten Scottish Internationalist players.
Two of the rising stars of Scottish Golf, Hannah McCook and Sandy Scott, who have been coached by David over the past ten years, are extremely exciting prospects.
Apart from coaching some of the very best players in our country David spends the majority of his time coaching all standards of players of all ages and varying abilities. It is his confident belief that he can improve each and every Golfers performance.
